A new film, “The Girl With The Leica,” directed by Alina Marazzi, challenges the popular understanding of photographer Robert Capa by highlighting the contributions of German-born photojournalist Gerda Taro (née Gerta Pohorylle).
Marazzi’s time-jumping film aims to dismantle the myth of Capa as a lone, jet-setting photographer. The film reclaims Taro’s legacy, revealing her crucial role in creating some of the mid-20th century’s most iconic war photography.
