A federal judge on Wednesday unsealed a handwritten note that a former cellmate of Jeffrey Epstein claims is a suicide note. The note was found by Nicholas Tartaglione, who shared a cell with Epstein at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. Tartaglione said he discovered the note inside a graphic novel after Epstein died in August 2019. The note, which spans roughly half a page, reads: "No fun — not worth it." Its authenticity has not been independently verified by news organizations including the BBC, The New York Times, and others.
The release came in connection with a lawsuit filed by Tartaglione against the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Tartaglione, a former police officer convicted of murder in a separate case and serving a life sentence, alleges negligence by prison officials in Epstein's death.
