Bangkok-based distribution and production company Fearfolks has acquired worldwide sales and pre-sell rights to the Indian, Hindi-language horror film “Numinous.” The deal comes ahead of the Cannes Film Market, where the title will be introduced to buyers.
The film is directed by and stars Jay Alani, an Indian paranormal investigator, filmmaker, podcast host, and bestselling author. “Numinous” is drawn from one of Alani’s own documented real-life paranormal cases, blending his firsthand experiences with narrative horror.
Fearfolks will handle all international rights for the project. The company’s involvement places the film on the global sales slate just as the Cannes market gets underway, signaling early interest in India’s expanding genre cinema footprint.
