Florida A&M University (FAMU) football, coached by Quinn Gray Sr., is preparing to face the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday, Sept. 10, following a 31-13 loss to South Carolina State. The Rattlers are 1-1 overall and historically struggle against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams, holding a 1-35 record. Their only FBS victory was against Miami in 1979.
The Rattlers lost to South Carolina State in the Orange Blossom Classic on Sept. 6, allowing 292 rushing yards and being dominated at the line of scrimmage. Miami enters the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Stanford 45-6, highlighted by a program-record 234 receiving yards from sophomore wide receiver Malachi Toney, who had 12 catches and three touchdowns.
Quinn Fordham Gray Sr. will discuss the matchup on the Southwestern Athletic Conference coaches call on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 11:45 a.m. Eastern. The game will be played at 8 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, and will be broadcast on the ACC Network and 96.1 JAMZ.
FAMU’s 2026 schedule includes games against Tennessee State (Sept. 19), Alabama A&M (Sept. 26), Alabama State (Oct. 10), Jackson State (Oct. 17), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 24), Southern (Oct. 31), Alcorn State (Nov. 7), Mississippi Valley State (Nov. 14), and Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 21).
