Mumbai, India – Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, is launching “Excel Origins” to identify and support emerging filmmakers under the age of 30. The initiative marks the company’s 25th anniversary.
The program aims to discover, develop, and back a new generation of Indian filmmaking talent. Sidhwani and Akhtar themselves were 26 years old when they established Excel Entertainment and began their first project.
According to Variety, “Excel Origins” is intended to provide opportunities for young filmmakers to bring their visions to life with the backing of an established production house. The launch coincides with Excel Entertainment’s silver jubilee celebration, highlighting the founders' commitment to fostering creativity within the Indian film industry.
