Inside Out, the organization behind Canada’s 2SLGBTQ+ film festival, has announced the eight feature film projects chosen for its 10th International Film Financing Forum. The event, presented by Netflix, will take place in Toronto on May 28 and 29.
The selected projects come from filmmakers with backgrounds at major festivals, including Cannes and Sundance alumni. Among them are “Summer in Heat,” from Cannes alum Levan Akin, and “Suffering is Optional,” from Pakistani Canadian Cannes alum Zarrar Khan. Additional projects were listed in the full announcement.
The forum provides a platform to connect queer-focused film projects with potential financiers and industry partners. The 10th edition continues Inside Out’s decade-long effort to support underrepresented voices in cinema through targeted networking and pitch opportunities.
