The Dover and Winnacunnet high school cross country teams competed at the Nashua North Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12. In field hockey, Mt. Ararat defeated York, and in volleyball, Washington Academy beat York.
In the girls cross country race, Winnacunnet placed fifth out of 15 teams with a score of 122. Sofia Parisi led Winnacunnet, finishing seventh in 20 minutes, 5.2 seconds. Vera McCown was 20th (20:48.9), Pamela Valhouli was 27th (21:14.7), Rowan Condon was 28th (21:15.5), and Isabella Stringer was 48th (22:27.7). Dover finished eighth with a score of 213. Dover’s Janelle Poulin placed 13th overall in 20:16.1. Lily Fiorenza was 32nd (21:38.7), Evalee James was 34th (21:42.5), and Lily Glode was 59th (23:05.5).
Dover placed eighth in the boys race with 213 points. Nils Anderson led Dover, finishing 17th in 16:50.9. Zach LeFebvre was 28th (17:25.2), Luke Dean was 30th (17:34.4), Finn Polzin was 49th (18:09.9), and Charlie Pettee was 62nd (18:35.8). Tyler Ebert led Winnacunnet with a 48th-place finish in 18:09.6. Leon Myszko placed 64th (18:36.7), and Sheadon Lambert was 70th (18:44.2).
In field hockey, Mt. Ararat defeated York 7-0. Sarah Orso, York’s goalie, had 19 saves. Bella Fulis also played well for York, which now has a 1-2 record.
In volleyball, Washington Academy defeated York 3-2. The set scores were 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 21-25, 16-14. York’s record is now 2-1.
