A new documentary, “Too Much Music,” is in production focusing on the life and story of Ghanaian keyboardist Kiki Gyan. The film aims to address what director Aseye Fiagbe perceives as a gap in the public understanding of Gyan’s life, beyond simply knowing how he died.
The project was inspired by Fiagbe's childhood exposure to Gyan’s music through the band Osibis. Despite being familiar with his work, she found herself largely unaware of the details surrounding his life. “That bothered me,” recalls Fiagbe about what motivated her to create the documentary.
The film intends to explore not only Gyan’s biography but also broader questions regarding who controls the narratives surrounding artists and their legacies. Details on release dates or distribution have not yet been announced.
