Former Costa Rican Film Commissioner Marysela Zamora will continue her work promoting the audiovisual sector through her role with the Ibero-American Network of Film Commissions (Iberofic). Zamora, who revitalized the Costa Rica Media Market (CRMM), will spearhead a regional agenda focused on bolstering women’s leadership within the industry.
Zamora served as Costa Rican Film Commissioner and was instrumental in the recent revival of the Costa Rica Media Market (CRMM) over the past two years. Her efforts with the CRMM aimed to promote Costa Rica as a location for audiovisual production.
Continuing her commitment to the industry, Zamora will remain on the Board of Directors of Iberofic. In this capacity, she will lead a regional agenda specifically designed to increase the representation and leadership of women in the audiovisual sector. According to Zamora, “I believe that the next great chapter in audiovisual media will be written in Spanish.” This suggests a belief in the growing importance of Spanish-language content and the need for diverse voices within its creation.
Iberofic is a network of film commissions representing countries across Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. Zamora’s position within the organization allows her to influence policy and initiatives across a broad regional landscape, furthering her goal of empowering women in the film and television industries.
