CHENANGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A British soccer team, or football as they call it across the pond, made its biennial trip to the Southern Tier. The Harvey Grammar School from Folkestone, England has been visiting the area every two years since 1989 to participate in scrimmages and drills with local students.
The Harvey Grammar School’s visit, which occurred this afternoon, is a long-standing tradition. The school has consistently traveled to the Southern Tier region of New York every two years since 1989.
The purpose of these trips is to engage in soccer scrimmages and drills with students from the local community. The program provides an opportunity for cultural exchange and athletic development for both the British students and their American counterparts.
