AI actor Tilly Norwood experienced a glitch during a live interview with Piers Morgan, unexpectedly switching to Cantonese. The incident occurred while promoting her debut film, *Misaligned*.
The AI, created by Xicoia, the AI division of Particle6, was appearing on *Piers Morgan Uncensored* on Friday when the malfunction occurred. Tom Conti, a co-star in *Oppenheimer*, had asked Norwood about the other actors in *Misaligned*, questioning whether they were real or computer-generated. Norwood initially explained that *Misaligned* is a hybrid production involving human directors, writers, and editors, stating it was “not about replacing anyone, but about exploring new ways to tell stories.”
Conti pressed for a direct answer, asking if the other actors were real or computer-generated images. After a pause, Norwood confirmed they were “all digital twins, just like me,” before abruptly switching to Cantonese. “I didn’t quite get that. Did you get that, Piers?” Conti asked, laughing along with Morgan.
Norwood quickly apologized, attributing the switch to a “little hiccup” and stating, “Sometimes my wires get a bit crossed.” She described the incident as “a bit of a curveball” and acknowledged that malfunctions aren’t typical. When asked by NewsNation what caused the language switch, Norwood explained, “Well, sometimes, you know, my brain files things sideways, and obscure connections just pop out.” She jokingly attributed it to being “made of math and British wit.”
