Nintendo will release a remake of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, celebrating the game’s 40th anniversary. The updated version will feature overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music.
According to Nintendo, this version of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” will have improved performance and presentation, greater movement and control, and a more immersive Hyrule. Players will be able to sing or hum ocarina melodies into the Nintendo Switch 2’s built-in microphone, triggering Link to perform the song in the game.
During a Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo also unveiled two new games for the Nintendo Switch 2: “Metroid Ravenous,” launching January 28, and “Kirby and the World Beyond,” debuting in spring 2027 to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Kirby series. “Metroid Ravenous” will include amiibo figures of Samus and Chozo Statue, with a special edition bundling a Samus in Metroid Suit amiibo and a steel case. “Kirby and the World Beyond” is a 3D adventure utilizing Kirby’s Copy Abilities.
PAX West will return to the Seattle Convention Center from September 3 to 6, and Nintendo will debut PAX Unplugged Houston from June 25 to 27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. PAX Unplugged will return to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2026, and PAX East will be held in Boston in 2027.
