India’s Ele Animations Pvt. Ltd. is adapting its Pogo channel animated series "Jay Jagannath" into a theatrical feature film. The new film is titled "Mahaprabhu Jagannath." According to the source, this project is designed to launch Ele Animations' "Sanatan Universe."
The feature has secured a pan-India theatrical release through a distribution agreement with Cinepolis. The film is set to screen across more than 300 screens. To reach a broad audience, the release will be available in Hindi, Odia, and Telugu.
The narrative focuses on Lord Jagannath, a form of Hindu God Vishnu who is venerated across Odisha. The adaptation marks a transition for the property from the "Jay Jagannath" series on Pogo to a theatrical format. With the launch of the "Sanatan Universe," Ele Animations aims to bring the story of the deity, venerated across Odisha, to cinema halls through the distribution agreement with Cinepolis.
