Kevin Rideout, an American missionary pilot, has been released after nine months in captivity in Niger. Rideout, who works for the evangelical missionary agency SIM International, was abducted in October from outside his home in the capital city of Niamey.
SIM International stated that Rideout is in good health and is currently in the care of U.S. officials. The organization added that he would soon be reunited with his family. While the release is confirmed, the specific circumstances of his recovery remain unstated, though U.S. officials scrambled to bring him home following his abduction.
