Shinya Tsukamoto’s film, “Mr Nelson, Did You Kill People?” explores the PTSD of Marine Allen Nelson, based on his memoir. The film focuses on Nelson’s struggles after returning from the Vietnam War and his inability to discuss his experiences, even when prompted by a school class.

During a visit to the class, Nelson is unable to answer a student’s direct question: “Mr Nelson, did you kill people?” The film utilizes flashbacks to portray the trauma Nelson experienced, with a significant budget allocated to special effects simulating sweat and gunfire. Tatyana Ali plays Nelson’s wife, Linda.
