German director Nikias Chryssos is premiering his debut English-language horror film “Bloody Tennis” at the Cannes Market. Sales agency The Playmaker will host a private screening of the movie on Wednesday.
Chryssos spoke to Variety about the film’s social commentary, stating that the story illustrates how “ruthlessness is rewarded, not compassion.” The director sees the horror as a reflection of broader societal dynamics where cruelty often prevails over kindness.
The film stars Sandra Guldberg Kampp, known for her role in “Foundation,” and Golden Globe nominee Helena. A first-look image from the production featuring Kampp was also released.
