Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is set to leave out one first-team player from the squad for their upcoming La Liga match against Valencia. The decision stems from having 24 players available while league regulations only permit 23 registered players per game.
According to SPORT, the return of Gavi and Gabriel Jesus to full training has created the unusual situation. Both players are now fit enough to be considered for selection, forcing Flick to make a difficult choice. The coach has raised the intensity of training sessions due to the increased depth of the squad.
Alejandro Balde and Brian Farinas are identified as players at risk of being excluded. Balde was previously left out of a matchday squad against Elche due to a technical decision regarding his focus, but this time the situation is different. He has been included in recent squads without playing any La Liga minutes. Farinas is also in contention for a spot, adding to Flick’s challenge in finalizing the team list.
