System76 released COSMIC Epoch 1.8, the latest version of its Rust-based desktop environment for Pop!_OS Linux. The update, arriving just two weeks after Epoch 1.7, focuses primarily on bug fixes and translation updates, with a few minor feature additions.
The COSMIC Compositor now supports launching XWayland windows in a minimized state. The COSMIC Shell has improved tablet handling, including support for tablet grabs. COSMIC Settings now allows users to rename connected Bluetooth devices.
