Amber Eggers, known for appearing on WE TV’s “Love After Lockup,” died September 3 in Georgia from acute liver failure. She was 41 years old.
Eggers was featured in the 2019 season of “Love After Lockup,” which follows couples meeting for the first time after years of correspondence while one partner is incarcerated, and documents their relationships after release. She had been serving a four-year sentence for drug trafficking when her partner, Vincent Gonzalez, proposed to her on the show. Their relationship ended after her release from prison.
Eggers later made several appearances in subsequent seasons of the franchise, including “Life After Lockup,” beginning around 2021. In 2025, her health began to decline, leading to hospitalization for severe pneumonia and a bacterial infection. Her sister, Erin, created a GoFundMe page to help cover the medical bills, stating that Eggers was “one of the kindest and most big-hearted people” and needed strength “for the fight of her life.”
More than a year later, Eggers was hospitalized again “because she wasn’t feeling well,” according to her mother, Monica Eggers. Monica Eggers told TMZ, “doctors couldn’t keep Amber’s heart beating any longer and she ultimately died from acute liver failure.”
