The B777, set to begin operations from NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia in 2027, will be a unique flying laboratory, according to NASA. The agency has not yet detailed the specific research the B777 will conduct, but the acquisition indicates a continued commitment to airborne scientific investigation following the DC-8’s decades of service.
