Abhishek Sharma’s performance has strengthened his position as opener, while Sanju Samson scored only 10 runs and Ishan Kishan scored 42, giving India multiple options. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also in contention.
The second T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. A win for India will give them an unassailable 2-0 lead, while Afghanistan needs a victory to force a deciding third match.
