George and Amal Clooney were forced to evacuate their home in Brignoles, South of France, as wildfires spread through the area. The couple addressed the local mayor, expressing their commitment to the community and its future rebuilding.
According to Variety, the Clooneys evacuated their hilltop estate, Domaine du Canadel, after a wildfire swept through Brignoles, prompting hundreds of residents to flee. The fires posed an immediate threat to homes and property in the region.
The couple communicated with Brignoles Mayor Didier Brémond via letter, stating, “We remain fully part of this community.” They also pledged their support for rebuilding efforts following the devastation caused by the wildfires.
The extent of damage to the Clooneys’ estate is currently unknown, but they have indicated a strong desire to contribute financially and otherwise to the restoration of Brignoles after the immediate crisis subsides.
