Pete Fiutak of College Football News (CFN) has released his Week 3 bowl projections, following surprising results in college football's opening weeks. Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, and Oregon are among the teams projected to participate.
The Cricket Celebration Bowl, scheduled for December 12, 2026, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA, will pit South Carolina State against Alabama State. South Carolina State won last season’s game 50-38 in 4OT. The game has affiliations with the MEAC and SWAC conferences.
The IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl, on December 15, 2026, will feature FIU versus Old Dominion at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, AL. Jacksonville State won last season’s game 17-13. Affiliations include CUSA, MAC, and Sun Belt.
The Frisco Football Classic, also on December 15, 2026, will see Kennesaw State play Oklahoma State at Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, TX. There was no game last season. Affiliations include CUSA and Sun Belt.
The Boca Raton Bowl, on December 18, 2026, will match Florida Atlantic against Washington State at Flagler Credit Union Stadium in Boca Raton, FL. Louisville won last season’s game 27-22. Affiliations include Group of 6.
The Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl, also on December 18, 2026, will have USF playing Mississippi State at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. NC State won last season’s game 31-7. Affiliations include AAC, CUSA, (ACC, SEC).
The Myrtle Beach Bowl, on December 21, 2026, will feature James Madison versus Western Michigan at Brooks Stadium in Conway, SC. Western Michigan won last season’s game 41-6. Affiliations include Group of 6.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, also on December 21, 2026, will pit Ohio against North Dakota State at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, ID. Washington State won last season’s game 34-21. Affiliations include MAC and Mountain West.
The Puerto Rico Bowl, on December 22, 2026, will match Toledo against San Diego State at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. There was no game last season. Affiliations include MAC and Group of 6 or Pac-12.
The StaffDNA Cure Bowl, also on December 22, 2026, will have East Carolina playing Georgia Southern at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, FL. Old Dominion won last season’s game 24-10. Affiliations include Group of 6.
The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, on December 22, 2026, will feature Tulane versus Cal at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, LA. Louisiana Tech won last season’s game 23-14. Affiliations include AAC and Former Pac-12 (or Big 12).
