NASA astronauts Randy Bresnik, Andre Douglas, Frank Rubio, and Bob Hines, along with ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano, visited NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This marked the first visit to Kennedy by the entire Artemis III crew and backup crew members.
The crew members viewed progress on the solid rocket booster integration in High Bay 3 inside the Vehicle Assembly Building. Artemis III will launch four crew members aboard the Orion spacecraft to carry out objectives in low Earth orbit. These objectives are designed to demonstrate critical systems needed for future lunar landings, beginning with Artemis IV.
The visit allowed the crew to observe firsthand the preparations for their mission and the integration of key components. NASA stated the mission will demonstrate critical systems needed for future lunar landings.
