Georgi M. Unkovski’s “DJ Ahmet” is the frontrunner for the Adriatic Film and TV Awards, followed closely by “Yugo Florida.” The awards, which recognize outstanding films and series from seven countries, will be presented on October 24th.
“DJ Ahmet” received seven nominations, having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the World Cinema Dramatic category where it won both the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision. “Yugo Florida” garnered six nominations, while “Wind, Talk to Me,” “Mother,” and “God Will Not Help” each received five.
In the series categories, “Black Sun” and “The Hollow” lead with four nominations each, trailed by “Komar” and “Shame” with three each. The nominations were determined by a vote of over 800 members of the Film and TV Academy of the Adriatic Region, comprised of film and television professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia. These academy members will now select the winners.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 24th in Porto Montenegro, Tivat, Montenegro. The Film and TV Academy of the Adriatic Region was founded by the Sarajevo Film Festival, Auteur Film Festival Belgrade, and Zagreb Film Festival.
Nominees include Jasna Diklić and Manuela Martelli for Lead Actress, and Stefan Đorđević and Arif Jakup for Lead Actor. Rising Star nominees are Marko Grabež, Arif Jakup, Jana Milosavljević, Lamija Salihović, and Ana Marija Veselčić. Directors nominated include Stefan Đorđević, Hana Jušić, Teona Strugar Mitevska, Vladimir Tagić, and Georgi M. Unkovski. The screenplay nominees are Stefan Đorđević, Hana Jušić, and Nikola Ležaić.
