Spencer Jones and Jazz Chisholm Jr. powered the New York Yankees to a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. Jones hit a home run and drove in three runs, while Chisholm also went deep and recorded three hits.
The pair launched back-to-back home runs, giving Gerrit Cole a 3-0 lead before he even threw a pitch in his return home.
The Yankees’ win extended their lead to four games over Boston for the top American League wild card spot and brought them within 4 1/2 games of first-place Tampa Bay in the AL East.
