Former NFL kicker Adam Vinatieri explained his decision to have Carlie Irsay-Gordon induct him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, citing her family’s importance to him and their legacy with the Indianapolis Colts.
Vinatieri expressed affection for both the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts organizations. He stated, “I love both organizations.” However, he emphasized his strong connection to the Irsay family, specifically Jim Irsay, who brought him to the Colts organization.
The kicker highlighted Carlie Irsay-Gordon’s role in continuing her father's legacy and expressed excitement about watching her take on that responsibility. “Living in Indy, what the Irsay family meant to me, Jim just meant the world bringing me into that organization, and Carlie I'm so excited watching her taking over her dad's legacy,” Vinatieri said. This is why he chose her to be his presenter at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
