VIDA Kovai Kings defeated Siechem Madurai Panthers by 84 runs to claim the 2026 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) title. The tournament began in 2016, and Chepauk Super Gillies remain the most successful franchise with four titles.
VIDA Kovai Kings posted a total of 182 for 7 after winning the toss, largely due to Andre Siddarth C., who scored 82 runs off 47 balls with seven fours and five sixes. He shared a 108-run stand with Balasubramaniam Sachin, who contributed 39 runs. P Saravanan of the Panthers was the leading bowler, taking 4 wickets for 30 runs.
The Madurai Panthers’ chase faltered immediately, losing R Ram Kumar on the first ball and falling to 11 for 2 in two overs. NS Chaturved managed 40 runs before being dismissed, after which the innings quickly collapsed. Manimaran Siddharth and captain Shahrukh Khan each took three wickets, bowling out the Panthers for 98 in 14.2 overs, losing their last six wickets for 17 runs.
Chepauk Super Gillies have won the TNPL in 2017, 2019, and 2021, and shared the 2022 title with Lyca Kovai Kings due to a rain-affected, abandoned final. The Kovai franchise now has three titles, including wins in 2023 and 2026. Tuti Patriots, Siechem Madurai Panthers, Dindigul Dragons, and iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have each won the tournament once, making for a total of seven different champions in the ten completed editions of the TNPL.
