The UConn men’s basketball team’s 2026-27 Big East schedule was released Monday, featuring several key matchups and challenges. The league is expected to be more competitive than the previous season due to increased spending by multiple teams.
The Huskies will host Georgetown on December 23. A New Year’s Eve game is scheduled at Butler on December 31, marking Braylon Mullins’ return to Indianapolis. UConn will then travel to Creighton on January 3, where Alan Huss has replaced Greg McDermott as head coach.
Further into the season, UConn faces Seton Hall on January 9 and Marquette on January 12, with Marquette retaining the Big East’s top player retention rate, led by POY candidate Nigel James Jr. Xavier, having tripled their NIL budget and added four double-figure scorers, will host UConn on January 16. A January 20th game at Providence will pit UConn against new Friar coach Brian Hodgson, creating what is expected to be an interesting dynamic with UConn’s head coach.
UConn will also play Georgetown again on January 26, followed by a Friday night game at St. John’s in Madison Square Garden on January 29. A February 3rd home game against Villanova will be played on Super Bowl Sunday. Creighton will visit UConn on February 7, while UConn will travel to DePaul on February 10 for their second trip to Chicago this season, following a December 4th game against Illinois. UConn will then face Seton Hall on February 17, a team that lost many players to the portal, including UConn sophomore big Na'jai Hines. The schedule concludes with a February 20th game at Marquette.
