The 78th annual Emmy Awards took place Monday at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, marking a gathering of top television executives. The event coincided with the end of a week-long heat wave.
Among those in attendance were newly appointed Apple CEO John Ternus and Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro. Ternus, attending his first major award show, noted Apple TV’s strong position with nominations for “Widow’s Bay,” “Shrinking,” “Pluribus,” and more. “I might be the world’s biggest Apple TV fan,” Ternus told Variety, adding that he is a frequent consumer of TV and film. He highlighted the progress made in just seven years, stating, “There’s so much good content. There’s so many great stories, and we’re just going to keep building on that.”
