Arman Tsarukyan will now face Maurício Ruffy in the co-main event of UFC 331, rather than a previously anticipated rematch with Charles Oliveira. The change comes despite weeks of reports suggesting the Oliveira fight was finalized.
Tsarukyan (23-3) and Ruffy (14-2), currently ranked No. 7, will compete in the co-main event. For weeks, speculation had been building around a potential rematch between former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and Tsarukyan, who is ranked No. 2.
The fight promotion, however, opted to book Tsarukyan against Ruffy instead of immediately pursuing the Oliveira matchup.
