Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock recently joined Instagram, amassing over 6 million followers, but not to promote upcoming projects. She revealed on the "SmartLess" podcast that her primary motivation was to fight scammers who are fraudulently using her name and likeness to defraud her fans.

Bullock explained that she was compelled to create a social media presence to directly address the issue of online scams. The actress stated she was forced to join the platform to combat individuals exploiting her image for financial gain.

While many initially assumed Bullock’s April entry into social media was to generate buzz for “Practical Magic 2,” she clarified that combating fraud was the driving force behind her decision. She has gained 6 million followers since joining Instagram.
