Prime Video has renewed its series “Every Year After” for a second season. The show, based on Carley Fortune’s novel ‘One Golden Summer,’ will continue to expand the Barry’s Bay universe.
The renewal follows the success of the television adaptation of Fortune's best-selling book, originally titled 'Every Summer After' but known as 'Every Year After' in its series form. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy B. Harris will return as showrunner for the second season.
Deadline reported that the new season will be inspired by Fortune’s sequel novel, ‘One Golden Summer.’ The streamer intends to further develop the setting of Barry’s Bay with this continuation of the story.
The first season of “Every Year After” garnered attention for its adaptation of the popular romance novel. Details regarding casting and a release date for the second season have not yet been announced.
