Set to launch on Sunday, August 30, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will empower astronomers to explore vast regions of the cosmos and settle essential questions in the areas of dark energy, dark matter, planets outside our solar system, and the formation and growth of galaxies over cosmic time.
According to NASA, key contributions to Roman’s mission come from the Ames center. The telescope’s purpose is to investigate fundamental mysteries of the universe, including dark energy and dark matter, as well as to study exoplanets and the evolution of galaxies.
