Barcelona-based MoreThan Films has acquired the rights to the period road movie “Les Indes” (“The Indies”) prior to its screening at the Venice Film Festival. The film, co-written and directed by Pauline Julier and Nicolas Chapoulier, will premiere in the Giornate Degli Autori (Venice Days) section of the festival.
The acquisition was announced as the filmmakers prepare for their feature film debut. “The Indies” is a production from Spain’s Lastor Media, known for producing “Alcarràs,” and Switzerland’s Alina Film, which produced “The Currents.”
MoreThan Films will handle world sales for “Les Indes.” The source did not provide further details regarding the terms of the acquisition or the film's plot beyond its description as a period road movie.
