The Mitchell High School cross country team is preparing for the fall season despite significant losses from the previous year’s roster. The team is focusing on developing a young core of runners with an eye toward competition in 2026.
With the start of the fall season approaching, the Mitchell High School cross country team is preparing to compete. The team faces a rebuilding year after graduating eight varsity long-distance runners from last year’s team. Of those graduating, five were from the boys’ team and three from the girls’ team.
The Kernels are currently thin on runners due to these graduations, but are looking to build a strong foundation for future success. The team is specifically focused on developing a young core of athletes who they hope will be competitive by 2026.
