Maria Bartiromo is no longer with Fox News Media, the company announced Thursday, ending her 12-and-a-half-year tenure. Fox provided no reason for the departure, which follows Bartiromo being off-air since early August. She hosted “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business, which will be retitled “Mornings with Fox Business” and feature a rotation of anchors, and “Sunday Morning Futures,” which will be hosted this Sunday by Jason Chaffetz, with a permanent replacement to be named later.
Bartiromo joined Fox News in 2014 after previously hosting programs on CNBC. She was the first reporter to broadcast daily from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange in 1995 and was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame in 2011. Prior to her role at Fox, Bartiromo hosted “Closing Bell” and “On the Money with Maria Bartiromo” on CNBC.
Speculation arose that Bartiromo might take a position in the Trump administration, specifically as White House press secretary, following Karoline Leavitt’s departure. However, reports indicate she is not joining the administration or another news network. Vice President J.D. Vance is scheduled to hold the first White House press briefing since Leavitt's departure, prompting some speculation about an announcement related to the press secretary role. In 2026, Bartiromo had scrubbed her profile pages from the Fox News and Fox Business websites in the weeks leading up to the announcement.
Bartiromo is a member of the Board of Trustees of New York University and the Council on Foreign Relations, and has received two Emmys and a Gracie Award. She is known for her close relationship with former President Donald Trump, who frequently appeared on her programs.
