San Francisco Giants second baseman Luis Arraez was removed from the lineup Saturday night shortly before a game against the San Diego Padres due to cramping. The move is precautionary after he also experienced cramps during Friday’s game.
The Giants announced that Arraez, who leads Major League Baseball with a .328 batting average entering Saturday's contest, was scratched as a precaution. He exited Friday night’s game in the seventh inning because of cramping.
Arraez is also considered one of the top players potentially available via trade as Monday’s MLB deadline approaches.
