Paradise City Sales has acquired worldwide sales rights for Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Gharaei's upcoming feature, “Falling House,” ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The film is slated to screen in the Horizons section.
“Falling House” represents Gharaei’s latest work following his 2017 drama, “Blockage.” That earlier film depicted contemporary Iranian society and garnered significant recognition, including the Best Film award at the Busan International Film Festival. Details beyond this initial announcement have not been released by Paradise City Sales.
The acquisition signals a move to distribute Gharaei’s work internationally, building on the success of “Blockage,” which continued its festival run after Busan. The Venice Film Festival is scheduled to begin August 30th and run through September 9th.
