Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry expressed his strong desire to win a Super Bowl with the team, stating it would be unacceptable to play alongside Lamar Jackson without achieving a championship. He believes the Ravens possess the necessary components for success and is motivated to end his personal streak of not competing for a Super Bowl.
Henry, after two seasons with the Ravens, has only reached the playoffs once, securing a single postseason win. He emphasized his commitment to changing this outcome. “It would be crazy for me to say I played with Lamar Jackson, and we didn't win no championships,” Henry said on “The Lounge” podcast. “I cannot have that. I do not want that to be a thing. We've got to do it.” He added, “I want to win a Super Bowl. That's a big motivation. I just want to be able to feel that feeling. I'm tired of watching. Every year, I'm tired of being at home on the couch watching. I want to be a part of it. That's what's motivating me right now. I'm going to keep going until we get to that point. We have the 2026 season to get that accomplished.”
Lamar Jackson also expressed confidence in the team's potential, stating, “I don’t believe a defense is prepared for what’s in store for them.” Jackson has not participated in any preseason games this year. He described the offense as having “a lot of moving parts” and possessing “everything you need in an offensive system,” including play action, dropbacks, and a strong run game.
The Ravens will begin their season next week against the Indianapolis Colts.
