The Washington Commanders suffered a 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 1 matchup. Several key performances and defensive breakdowns contributed to the outcome.
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels struggled in the first half, completing 6 of 16 passes for 43 yards, averaging 2.7 yards per attempt. He finished the game completing 18 of 34 passes for 164 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, while being sacked once. The Commanders were without top offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil, while the Eagles were missing top pass rusher Jonathan Greenard.
