Week two of the 2026 college football season featured several unexpected results, including a major comeback by Texas and an upset victory for Oklahoma State.
On Saturday, Michigan defeated No. 11 Oklahoma in Ann Arbor. Later in the day, No. 5 Texas mounted a 20-point fourth-quarter comeback to defeat No. 1 Ohio State 20-3. The Longhorns were led by quarterback Arch Manning, who orchestrated three scoring drives of over ten plays each. Manning stated after the game, “I had nightmares about that game,” referencing last year’s contest.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State stunned No. 6 Oregon with a 39-31 victory in Stillwater. Oklahoma State had previously lost 21 straight games to FBS opponents and lost to Tulsa the previous week under new head coach Eric Morris, who secured the biggest win of his career. Oregon scored fourteen points off turnovers, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.
