Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” recently delivered a tribute to Dolly Parton that has been described as “one of the worst” by Variety. The tribute occurred during an episode where Maher also addressed defending Natalie Harp and Hunter Biden.
Last week, Maher dedicated his show to defending Natalie Harp, described as a Trump “human printer,” after admitting he was hesitant to criticize her relationship with President Trump due to a previous lawsuit from Laura Loomer. He also discussed Hunter Biden’s recent media appearances.
At the top of his show Friday night, Maher briefly mocked President Trump’s recent criticisms of Canada before transitioning to the tribute for Parton. He stated, “All this is going on and all America could really talk about this week was how sad it is that we lost Dolly Parton.” He noted the widespread mourning, including events in London and illuminated landmarks like the Santa Monica Ferris wheel, the Empire State Building (lit in pink), and The Sphere in Las Vegas, which featured a depiction of a nipple.
Parton, 80, recently passed away after a “brief battle with cancer.” She was a celebrated country music legend, a cultural icon, and a philanthropist known for her Imagination Library, which has promoted literacy among children globally. She was also described as “our last universally beloved celebrity.”
