Production on the medical drama 'The Pitt' demands precision, from its immersive 360-degree hospital set to its painstakingly produced prosthetics. These elements leave little room for error on set. For Season 2, creator R. Scott Gemmill chose to raise the stakes by incorporating one of the most famously unpredictable elements in filmmaking: a baby.
Introducing an infant character meant accepting a new level of complexity. The production ultimately relied on a rotation of more than 12 adorably swaddled infants to play the role of Baby Jane Doe. By using multiple babies, the show’s creative team was able to manage the inherent challenges of working with such young performers while maintaining the show's exacting standards.
