Yehuda Levi will star in the upcoming international action-thriller series, “The Escape,” produced by Keshet International. The eight-episode series is set in the Colombian jungle and centers on a man fleeing a religious cult, leaving behind his family.
The series, titled “Ha’Bricha” in Hebrew, follows the story of a man who escapes a religious cult led by his father, only to find he must rescue his wife and child. He enlists the help of ex-Mossad operative Carmeli, played by Yehuda Levi. Their rescue attempt is complicated by the cult’s alliance with a drug cartel, which threatens to escalate into a war.
Ido Tako co-stars as Yoel, the cult escapee, alongside Naya Bienstock as his wife Feigy, Roy Shachar Kremerman as their son Nachman, and Mark Ivanir as the cult leader. Filming took place in Colombia, Georgia, and Israel.
Created and written by Ariel Cohen, with direction from Yoav and Doron Paz, “The Escape” will premiere in Israel on Keshet 12 later this year. Keshet International will handle global distribution. The production is a Keshet Media Group production in association with Reisdor Productions for Keshet 12, produced by SE Films and Reisdor. Yaki Reisner and Shalom Eisenbach are executive producers, alongside Avi Nir (Keshet Media Group), Keren Shahar (Keshet International), and Karni Ziv, Yuval Horowitz and Eze Sakson (Keshet 12). “The Escape” joins Keshet International’s slate of international productions, including “Lovesick” for Netflix, “Unconditional” for Apple TV, and “Save the Date.”
