A previously unknown group of hackers is targeting computer systems that were already breached by the cybercrime group TeamPCP, according to a TechCrunch report. The unidentified intruders break into these victims’ networks and immediately act to remove TeamPCP’s presence.
Once inside, the unknown hackers kick TeamPCP operators out of the compromised systems and delete their hacking tools. The process is swift: as soon as access is gained, TeamPCP is locked out and its malware and other tools are wiped from the network.
No information is available about the identity or motivation of this new group. The actions leave victims whose systems had been hijacked by TeamPCP unexpectedly clean of that threat, but it remains unclear who is responsible or whether the unknown hackers have any further objectives.
