New England Patriots wide receiver AJ Brown is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks due to a high ankle sprain sustained during Wednesday’s season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. This injury could cause him to miss the Patriots’ Week 3 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brown is “expected” to be out for a minimum of four weeks. The Patriots recently acquired Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first seven NFL seasons, including exceeding 1,200 yards three times.
In Jacksonville, Montaric Brown will start at outside cornerback, with Jourdan Lewis at the nickel position. The Jaguars also anticipate a larger defensive role for Travis Hunter in 2026, believing he has the potential to significantly impact their cornerback play.
