Scottish director Paul Wright has detailed the creative origins of his film, "Mission," which stars George MacKay. Wright stated that the project began with a specific emotion rather than a traditional narrative structure.
According to Wright, the film was developed by "tapping into a feeling" more so than focusing on plot or story. He explained that the project was driven by the sensation "that some of us get sometimes of feeling maybe disconnected from the world."
