The British musical “Pride,” based on the true story of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), will move to the Bridge Theatre in London on November 12. The production has already enjoyed successful runs at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff and the National Theatre’s Dorfman space.
The transfer to the 900-seat Bridge Theatre will mark the inaugural show at the venue. The director of “Pride” stated that the larger venue will benefit the comedy, allowing it to be experienced by a wider audience.
“The comedy will really benefit from more people watching,” the director said, explaining the rationale behind the move. The musical tells the story of LGSM, a group that provided support to striking miners in the UK during the 1980s. The production’s success at previous venues has led to the decision to bring it to a larger space, hoping to reach even more viewers.
