The Inman Teutons will travel to Sedgwick this Friday for KSN's first Game of the Week of the 2026 high school football season. The Teutons are coming off a strong 2025 season and will look to Malachi Brunk and Korbyn McLellan to lead their offense.
Inman head coach Lance Sawyer anticipates a tough matchup against Sedgwick. “They're fast and physical. They play hard. The kids play tough. They're really well coached. So they'll be a tough battle for us week one,” Sawyer said. Brunk emphasized the need for the Inman defense to prepare for Sedgwick’s passing attack, stating, “We know they're going to throw the rock around, so we should be getting everyone ready to see a lot of pass plays, and get our coverage ready as best we can for this week.”
Sedgwick will be led by new head coach Doug Mabry, and will feature Henry Morse at quarterback, a former offensive lineman and tight end. Mabry stressed the importance of discipline for his team. “It's going to be really important for us to be able to read our keys and stay really disciplined on the defensive side. And then, you know, we're going to have to be able to be athletic on the offensive side and be able to make some plays out there. That's something that we just didn't do enough of last year. But we've got guys working hard to try to improve in some of those areas,” Mabry said. Morse added, “I think the preparation has been fantastic. I think we're getting a good look, and we're trying our best to get up to speed and work on all the little things.”
Last season, Sedgwick lost to Inman 61-24. The Cardinals are aiming for a different outcome this time. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Sedgwick High School.
